The fabulous boys ang girls in Junior Infants are now entering into their second month in 'Big School'. They are settling into their new routine and class really well. We are looking forward to exploring, learning and having lots of fun together!
3rd and 4th completed orienteering based on topics they covered in class. The children had to work collaboratively, think critically to answer all the questions while also developing their map reading skills.
1st and 2nd class had the amazing opportunity to do weekly workshops promoting women in S.T.E.A.M. The enjoyed many activities including building structures, testing aerodynamics and they even made windmills and a missile launcher!
Congratulations to the authors in 3rd and 4th who created a book based on their research on the Irish Famine.
A huge amount of effort went into it, from writing it and developing their literacy skills while also illustrating their stories.
The children in Ms. Mc Namaras room learned about time using their laptops. Mixing digital skills into lessons is a great way to develop computer literacy.
3rd and 4th class planted carrots and lettuce during spring. They will monitor their growth and hopefully have some food for dinner in a few months.
Dancing and gymnastics is not only a great form of exercise, but it also allows the children to express themselves through movement. We loved our weekly sessions with Yolanda from Retox dance.

3rd and 4th class received letters from their pen pals. They live in a town called La Algaba in Sevilla, Andalusia. We had a lot of fun writing our replies!

We traveled to Leixlip for this years FAI soccer blitz. All three teams had a super enjoyable day playing football against teams from Broadford, Clogherinkoe and Staplestown. 5th/6th boys team won their group and are through to the Kildare finals.

We had a lot of fun playing with the snow in March! Its arrival was unexpected but the children (and teachers) certainly made the most of it!

This STEM robotic activity combines Lego building and Scratch programing, where the children can build their own robotic creatures!
1st and 2nd class got to explore the art technique of printing. The process of printing allows the children to make identical copies of images while exploring color and patterns.

This week the children got to be "Food Dudes" as they sampled a selection of fresh fruit and veg every day. Everyone was encouraged to use all their senses to explore the food.
The children in 1st and 2nd Class made hot air balloons using clay! Clay is always a messy fun favourite for the children. It's also a great way to develop fine motor skills and muscle tone while exploring their creative and imaginative skills.

The parents association recently purchased a beautiful buddy bench for our school. The bulk of the cost of the bench was covered using the Credit Union Community Fund grant. Thank you to the Parents Association for this beautiful addition to our outdoor area.

The children in Ms. Malones class got some real life measuring experience during math's. This helps the children to understand the concepts of measurement better and it creates a solid foundation for future learning in this area.
The children learned to master the art of throwing! This fundamental skill has many variations, including an underhand throw, overhand throw, two handed throw and rolling! This activity is an excellent way to develop gross motor movements.

Students enjoyed an Easter Egg Hunt today before they broke up for the Easter Holidays. They will be returning on Monday the 27th of April 2019.
This years Cross Country took place in Hawkfield's Centre of Exellence on Thursday the 11th of April. Congratulations to all three teams from Cadamstown N.S. who entered especially to the Girls team who came 4th overall in their category and Aoife Doran who came second. Well
Thank you to all the parents who supported the Scholastic Book Fair which took place in the school from Wednesday the 27th of February to Monday the 4th of March 2019. It was a great success and we raised €396 in Free Books for our school.

Classes 3rd to 6th took part in a Tag Rugby Blitz in Edenderry Rugby Club on the 14th of February. The 5th and 6th Class Team won all their 4 games while the 3rd and 4th Class Team won three games out of 4.
